You’ve been searching for your perfect home for a while, but you think you’ve found the one you really want. What to do next? Well, you can either request to book it right away or get in touch with the homeowner first.
What is the difference between requesting a booking and messaging the landlord?
If you request a booking, it means you’ve made your final decision. You’re completely sure that that’s the home you want and you’re ready to move in as soon as possible. You’ve seen all the pictures you needed and you’re satisfied with the kind of information provided on the profile. If that’s the case, then good for you! You’ve found your next home and you’re good to go!
But sometimes, you find the home you think could be the one, but just want to be extra sure. It’s a big step after all! Maybe you need to see some more pictures, or clarify a few things before making up your mind. Or maybe you’ve found a couple of places you like and don’t know which one to go with. Fair enough. In that case, it’s best to get in touch with the landlord before booking the home. That way, you can get all the information you need to make your final decision.
So just to be sure…

- If you want to keep searching
What happens once I submit a booking request?
As soon as your booking is completed, you will receive an email and a text message with all the necessary information. When you place a booking request, your credit card details are put on authorisation hold for the first month's amount of rent. Once the landlord accepts the booking request, your credit card details are charged the full amount for the first month of rent.
Both you (the tenant) and the landlord then proceed to signing contracts digitally. Sqmeterz only transfers the rent amount paid by the tenant upon confirmation of the booking request, to the landlord, up to 48 hours after move-in date.
